With the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, according to government legislation, every commercial organisation must prepare a Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking statement for each financial year. The legislation stipulates that an organisation’s statement must include the steps it is taking in the financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of its business or supply chain.
This statement sets out Tunstall Group’s intentions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place, steps that are aimed at ensuring there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own business and its supply chains. This statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 1st October 2017 to 30th September 2018.
Tunstall recognises that it has a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking. The organisation is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities and to ensuring that its supply chain is free from slavery and human trafficking.
This statement will cover the activities of the Tunstall Group business.

Tunstall builds integrated health propositions focussing on long term chronic condition management, delivers social and health care (response) management software solutions and services. Tunstall is also focusing on building its capability to meet the private pay need via consumer channel partners.
The organisation supports independent living by providing solutions that support carers and users to help people live at home and on the go. Tunstall also provides assisted living in the form of tailored solutions for housing and residential care providers. One further service offered is remote patient monitoring support thus helping healthcare organisations manage patients with chronic disease at remote locations.
Countries of operation and supply
Tunstall currently operates in a number of countries.
The company embarked on a process to assess whether or not particular activities or countries are high risk in relation to slavery and human trafficking in the year 1st October 2017 to 30th September 2018.
The Tunstall Modern Slavery Act Focus Group is updating existing policies that describe its approach to the identification of modern slavery risks and to take steps to prevent slavery and human trafficking in its operations.
The Tunstall Modern Slavery Act Focus Group is defining what needs to be undertaken when appointing new suppliers and regularly reviews its existing suppliers and as part of such review process, is including obligations relating to anti-slavery in those standard forms.
Tunstall will review its internal key performance indicators (KPI’s) in so far as these relate to the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Training and communication
The Tunstall Modern Slavery Act Focus Group is determining and defining the training and communication channels for all staff/supply chain managers/HR professionals within the organisation. They will complete training on modern slavery and commit to attending one of a number of training sessions and/or complete online training. These will explain to staff the basic principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015; how employers can identify and prevent slavery; what employees can do to flag potential slavery issues to relevant parties and what external help is available.
